The House of Bloom (HOB) produced a short story capturing the journey of its members, tracing their evolution from a collective of individuals from various regions of the Philippines into a chosen family through shared experiences and travel. This story came to life through a video that showcased their performances at The Hive Bar Baguio, the mutual support they provided during challenges, and their deep connections with their drag family in Vietnam, emphasizing cross-border solidarity. It also highlighted the vital role of chosen families for queer individuals, especially for those without the support of their biological families, and underscored the importance of health and self-care for queer artists, whose bodies are integral to their art. The project involved a videographer and collaborations with communities in Baguio, Philippines, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
The video highlights the House of Bloom's unique talents: matriarch Gumamela Bloom’s stunning blend of classic and modern drag, Jodi G’s witty storytelling and impersonations, Beking Liwayway’s high-energy stunts, JC Wards’ graceful movements and comedic charm, and Ivy Profen’s visually captivating alternative drag.
